Internship Overview:

The Mental Health Internship at Redefining the Future Network, Inc. is an excellent opportunity for students pursuing a degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or a related field to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic and supportive environment. Interns will work closely with licensed professionals and will be involved in a variety of tasks related to the provision of mental health services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Client Interaction: Assist in conducting intake assessments, participate in client sessions (under supervision), and support clients in achieving their mental health goals.
  • Treatment Planning: Collaborate with clinical staff in developing and updating individualized treatment plans that reflect the needs, strengths, preferences, and goals of the clients.
  • Case Management: Provide case management services, including coordinating care with other service providers, facilitating referrals, and ensuring continuity of care.
  • Group Facilitation: Assist in planning and facilitating therapeutic groups or psychoeducational workshops for various populations, including children, adolescents, and adults.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation by Redefining the Future Network, Inc.'s policies and procedures, including progress notes, treatment plans, and other required documentation.
  • Crisis Intervention: Participate in crisis intervention efforts, including supporting clients in distress and coordinating with emergency services when necessary.
  • Community Integration: Support clients in accessing community resources and developing skills that promote independence and integration into the community.
  • Professional Development: Engage in regular supervision sessions, attend training and development opportunities, and participate in staff meetings and case conferences.
  • Other Duties: Perform other duties as assigned by the organization or the site supervisor to support the overall functioning and mission of Redefining the Future Network, Inc.

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a graduate or undergraduate program in psychology, social work, counseling, or a related field.
  • Strong interest in mental health and a commitment to serving diverse populations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in practice.
  • Previous experience in a mental health setting is a plus, but not required.
