Medstar Health is seeking a skilled Behavioral Health Specialist to provide therapeutic interventions, assessment, evaluation, and disposition services for patients presenting to the Emergency Department with psychiatric concerns or illness.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in behavioral health and the ability to make independent clinical decisions.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide assessment, evaluation, and disposition services for patients with psychiatric concerns or illness.
- Process admissions to inpatient psychiatric units.
- Collaborate with inpatient units, outside agencies, and referral sources to coordinate admissions and ensure seamless care transitions.
- Participate in the management of aggressive patients to ensure the safety of patients, staff, and others.
- Provide education to patients and families about inpatient and outpatient processes and resources.
- Collect information from family members, referral sources, and other involved parties to inform clinical decisions.
- Master's degree in psychology, social work, or a related field.
- Licensed Certified Social Worker – Clinical (LCSW-C), or Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor (LGPC), or Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW), or License Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), or Ph.D.
- 1-2 years' experience in the assessment and disposition of behavioral health disorders.
Medstar Health offers a competitive salary range of $60,000 to $101,899.20, depending on experience.
