Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Training and Development Specialist III to join our team at the Texas Department of Aging & Disability Services. This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires a strong background in training and development, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement complex educational activities and services for State Supported Living Center employees
  • Serve as subject matter expert on provision of services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities
  • Track and ensure accuracy of SSLC curriculum
  • Ensure employees are effectively trained in core and specialty competencies required for their position
  • Monitor and document actions and behaviors of class participants to ensure compliance with SSLC policies and CTD guidelines
Requirements:
  • Knowledge of training procedures and techniques
  • Skills in preparing training classes and using computer-based programs such as Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Ability to enter and track large amounts of data and utilize databases
  • Ability to work in a team environment and interact with individuals of different backgrounds and types of education
  • Ability to train others and work with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certification as an instructor in Safe Use of Restraints (SUR), Ukeru, Basic Life Support (BLS), and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
