Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Patient Access Representative to join our team at Trinity Health. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for ensuring a smooth and efficient patient experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Validate and obtain demographic, clinical, financial, and insurance information from patients, family members, and guarantors in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Enter patient information into the patient accounting system, ensuring high data integrity and accuracy.
  • Provide information, directions, transportation, and assistance to patients, family members, and visitors, ensuring timely and customer-centric service delivery.
  • Communicate with various ancillary departments to ensure smooth patient flow and high data integrity.
  • Manage clinic patient appointments and phone calls/messages.
  • Review signed physician orders for all tests and procedures from physicians/offices when patients have paper orders with them.
  • Perform eligibility/benefit verification to ensure accurate insurance information.
  • Prepare patient estimates and inform patients/guarantors of their liabilities, collecting appropriate patient liabilities.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • One-year post-high school education preferred.
  • Past work experience of at least one year within a healthcare provider environment, performing patient access and/or customer services activities preferred.
Preferred Skills and Competencies
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented individual able to work with minimum supervision.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects at one time and flexibility to meet department needs.
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written, interpersonal skills necessary in dealing with internal and external customers.
  • Accuracy and time management skills required.
