Job Title: Psychiatrist

Catholic Charities Family and Community Services is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Psychiatrist to join our team. As a Psychiatrist, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive medical and psychiatric care to individuals receiving substance use treatment under the auspices of the New York State Office of Addiction Services and Supports (OASAS).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess, diagnose, and treat patients with substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, integrating psychiatric and substance use disorder treatments.
  • Prescribe medications, treatments, and external diagnostic referrals as required to maintain optimal health status of patients.
  • Provide individual and group therapy sessions, focusing on evidence-based therapeutic modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Motivational Interviewing (MI).
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including counselors, clinicians, and primary care providers, to coordinate comprehensive care.
Requirements:
  • Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited medical school.
  • Board certification in Psychiatry.
  • Valid medical license to practice in New York State.
  • DEA registration for prescribing controlled substances.
  • Demonstrated experience in treating substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions.
