Position: Electrical Test Engineer

We are seeking a dedicated Electrical Test Engineer to engage in comprehensive testing initiatives supporting advanced reactor technologies. This role involves a variety of responsibilities centered around the Reactor (MCFR) program, focusing on the execution and analysis of testing protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a Test Engineer specializing in the evaluation of molten salt systems and components.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of essential instrumentation for testing molten salt systems.
  • Program control systems for tests and experimental setups.
  • Carry out test requirements, plans, specifications, and procedures for unique components in high-temperature molten salt environments.
  • Assist in the fabrication and assembly of hardware for system testing.
  • Conduct laboratory testing to ensure safe operations and effective data collection regarding high-temperature molten salts.
  • Scientifically analyze test data and prepare reports to document findings related to molten salt reactors.
  • Promote best practices within the nuclear industry to enhance design quality and identify process improvement opportunities.
  • Foster a collaborative and safe environment for laboratory and testing activities.

Ideal Candidate Qualifications:

  • Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, Nuclear, or Materials Science Engineering.
  • Experience in research involving unique fluids, particularly at elevated temperatures.
  • Hands-on experience in designing, fabricating, and analyzing innovative equipment.
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks and/or AutoCAD for experimental design purposes.
  • Skills in programming, troubleshooting, and operating DAQ/PLC/SCADA systems.
  • Expertise in data acquisition and control systems for complex engineering setups.
  • Field experience in the start-up, troubleshooting, testing, and calibration of electrical and instrumentation systems.
  • Familiarity with electrical design and fabrication according to relevant codes.
  • Proven track record of safely handling laboratory chemicals and working in hazardous conditions.
  • Understanding of fabrication and joining processes.
  • Experience in scripting and automating analytical tools.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

Compensation: $80.00 per hour*

*Compensation will be determined based on various factors including education, experience, location, job duties, and certifications.
