The Residence Hall Director is a key member of the Iona University community, responsible for creating a comfortable, safe, and supportive living environment for approximately 1,500 students. This is a full-time, live-in position that requires a 12-month commitment.
Key Responsibilities- Program Development and Implementation: Design and implement programs and events that foster academic, social, cultural, spiritual, and respectful community living environments. This includes managing program planning, implementation, and budgetary responsibilities.
- Staff Supervision and Training: Supervise, train, and evaluate Resident Assistant staff to ensure effective supervision and holistic development of the residential program.
- Crisis Management and Adjudication: Serve in the professional on-call crisis rotation and adjudicate code of conduct behaviors to ensure a safe, clean, and functional living environment.
- Community Engagement and Outreach: Lead, assist, and serve on Residential Life and College committees, initiatives, or processes to promote community engagement and outreach.
- Education: Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of one year prior experience in Residential Life as a Resident Assistant, Graduate Assistant, Residence Hall Director, or experience working with college students in other higher education facets.
