Job Summary:

We are looking for a skilled and compassionate nurse to provide high-quality patient care in our oncology infusion department. The successful candidate will have a strong background in oncology nursing and be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide professional nursing care to patients with cancer, adhering to national and company standards and guidelines.
  • Assess patient health status, collect and record nursing assessment and interventions, and review and report results to the provider.
  • Plan, implement, coordinate, evaluate, and promote the continuity of care consistent with established standards and practices.
  • Administer therapies under the direction and supervision of a physician, including medications and blood products.
  • Facilitate dose modification, perform venipuncture, access implanted ports, and maintain central lines catheter devices.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of patient care and treatments provided, and apply knowledge of reimbursement procedures and charge capture.
  • Follow OSHA guidelines when handling cytotoxic agents, biohazardous waste, and other materials potentially infected with a blood-borne pathogen.
  • Maintain all disinfection protocols, equipment, and patient flow in and out of exam rooms.
  • Facilitate clinical operations and patient care, manage patient medication refill requests, and assist physician with exams and procedures.
  • Participate in professional development activities and maintain current knowledge of oncology nursing by participating in ongoing educational opportunities.
Qualifications:
  • Graduate from an accredited program for professional nursing education, BSN preferred.
  • RN state license and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in practicing state.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Must maintain continuing education requirements.
  • 3-5 years nursing experience, including at least one year in oncology, preferred.
  • Oncology certification preferred.
  • Chemotherapy Immunotherapy provider card preferred.
