Solution Center Specialist

The Solution Center Specialist position provides student-focused support in a fast-paced environment. This role is responsible for answering questions, facilitating transactions, processing paperwork, and tracking student inquiries in the areas of Financial Aid, Registrar, and Student Financial Services.
Key Responsibilities- Provide exceptional customer service to students, faculty, and staff, responding to inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Facilitate transactions, process paperwork, and track student inquiries in the areas of Financial Aid, Registrar, and Student Financial Services.
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure seamless communication and support across departments.
- Develop and maintain knowledge of university policies, procedures, and systems to provide accurate and informed support to students.
- Work effectively in a team environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities to meet deadlines and achieve goals.
- Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 2 years of customer service experience, or a HS Diploma or GED/equivalent with 3-5 years of directly related customer service experience.
- Effective oral, written, listening, and communication skills.
- Familiarity with computers and competency in navigating and performing data entry in a Windows environment.
- Experience with student relational database systems, such as PeopleSoft Campus Solutions 9.0, is preferred.
- Mathematical and analytical skills.
- Master's degree and 1-2 years of related higher education experience in a professional capacity.
- Experience in one of the following three areas: Financial Aid, Registrar, or Student Billing.
- Demonstrated experience in a fast-paced customer service environment.
- Ability to interpret and communicate university, state, and federal policies as they relate to financial aid, registration, and billing functions.
- Ability to work independently and demonstrate initiative.
- Sensitivity to cultural diversity and ability to communicate and interact effectively with people of all ages and backgrounds.
- Ability to work effectively as a team member.
- Ability to analyze and interpret information and make independent decisions.
