Job Title: Customer Service Rep/Classified Sales

Hearst Midwest Media Group is seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Customer Service Representative/Classified Sales Specialist.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a skilled and experienced professional to sell and market classified advertising across our publications. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with customers and provide exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Interact with customers to provide information and respond to inquiries about products and services.
  • Handle and resolve customer complaints in a timely and professional manner.
  • Maintain and develop assigned account bases, identifying new sales opportunities and building strong relationships with customers.
  • Provide customers with classified advertising recommendations, estimates, and collect payments.
  • Process all correspondence and paperwork related to accounts, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Prepare promotional plans, sales literature, media kits, and sales contracts using a computer.
  • Consult with management, sales departments, and co-workers to develop promotional plans and identify new sales opportunities.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous sales and customer service experience.
  • Knowledge of customer service principles and processes, including needs assessment, quality standards, and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of sales principles and methods, including marketing strategy, product demonstration, sales techniques, and sales control systems.
  • Excellent computer and web skills, with the ability to learn new software and systems quickly.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with customers and colleagues.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and projects, meet deadlines, and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
