Job Title: Patient Care Technician

We are seeking a skilled Patient Care Technician to join our team at Hackensack Meridian Health. As a Patient Care Technician, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and support to our patients and their families.

Job Summary:

The Patient Care Technician will work under the supervision of a registered nurse to provide direct and indirect patient care. This includes assisting with various patient-related tasks, such as vital sign monitoring, specimen collection, and patient transportation. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a strong attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide patient care and support to patients and their families
  • Assist with vital sign monitoring, specimen collection, and patient transportation
  • Participate in interdisciplinary collaboration to develop and implement patient care plans
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the registered nurse or healthcare team leader
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Completion of a Certified Nursing Assistant program, Patient Care Technician program, or Fundamentals of Nursing program from an accredited school of nursing
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing patient needs
  • Strong sense of accountability for improving the lives of patients and their caregivers
  • Exceptional focus on teamwork and dedication to ongoing education
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience or certification in phlebotomy and checking EKG, vital signs, and blood sugar
  • At least one year of PCT or CNA experience in a hospital setting
