We are seeking a skilled Roll Off Driver to join our team at GFL Environmental. In this role, you will be responsible for providing safe and efficient waste removal services to customers across multiple lines of businesses.

About the Job

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where no two days are the same. As a Roll Off Driver, you will be driving a roll-off truck along designated routes to collect, exchange, or deliver containers and take them to post-collection facilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Drive a roll-off truck along designated routes to collect, exchange, or deliver containers and take them to post-collection facilities.
  • Perform daily pre- and post-trip inspections, complete and submit the vehicle condition report at the end of the shift.
  • Courteously interact with customers and/or the general public along the route to answer questions or respond to requests.
  • Notify supervisors of issues requiring management action.
  • Clean loose trash off of the truck and/or ground around the truck and container that spills during the loading and unloading process to maintain a clean customer site and safety along roads and highways.
  • Maintain and submit a DOT logbook, daily route/productivity sheet, and vehicle condition report (post-trip inspection sheet) as required by law or company policy.
  • Maneuver the truck into and out of minimum clearance spaces, using mirrors to back up.
  • Use a key map and GPS to locate service addresses.
  • Follow safe operating practices, including lockout/tag-out procedures to ensure proper operation of the truck.
  • Monitor operations to detect loose debris, using mirrors or direct sight and/or listening for debris falling onto the truck during dumping operation; visually scan the customer site before and after dumping.
  • Adhere to all DOT, OSHA, FMCSA, and EPA regulations and standards.
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) is desired.
  • Possess a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL), Class A or B.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Have a minimum of one year of commercial driving experience or a CDL school certificate.
  • Be able to meet relevant criteria for safety-sensitive functions according to Company standards.
  • Be able to demonstrate the ability to safely drive the truck and operate the equipment.
Estimated Salary: $55,000 - $65,000 per yearBenefits:
