Activities Program Supervisor

Position Overview:

The Activities Director will be responsible for the strategic planning, development, organization, implementation, evaluation, and oversight of the Activities Programs to ensure that the assessed needs of all patients and residents are effectively addressed. This role involves scheduling and coordinating engaging activities both within the facility and in the broader community.

Key Responsibilities:


• Strategically plans, develops, organizes, implements, evaluates, and oversees the Activities Programs to meet the needs of patients and residents.


• Collaborates with administration, medical and nursing staff, and other relevant departments to plan and execute activities.


• Cultivates and maintains positive working relationships with other departments and community health, welfare, and social agencies to ensure the effectiveness of activity programs.


• Aids in the formulation, administration, and coordination of departmental policies and procedures.


• Stays informed of current federal and state regulations, as well as professional standards, and provides recommendations for policy updates to the Administrator.


• Conducts annual reviews of departmental policies and procedures and participates in recommending necessary changes.


• Assists in the creation of the departmental budget and monitors expenditures to ensure compliance with financial guidelines.


• Maintains strong professional relationships with medical personnel and other health-related organizations.


• Performs additional essential functions and duties as assigned, as this job description is not exhaustive.

Qualifications:


• Exceptional communication skills, particularly in verbal and oral interactions.


• Ability to function effectively as part of a team, demonstrating strong teamwork skills.


• Proven organizational and leadership capabilities are essential.


• Capacity to work independently with minimal supervision.


• Strong interpersonal skills are required.


• Demonstrates reliability and dependability.


• Excellent time management skills are necessary.


• Knowledgeable about patient and resident rights, fostering an environment that ensures privacy, dignity, and well-being in a safe and secure setting.


• High school diploma or GED is required.


• Preferred qualifications include college specialization or a combination of experience and training that equips the candidate with the necessary skills.


• Certification from an accredited Activity or Therapeutic Recreation organization is mandatory.
