Director of Public Relations

Lumos Networks is seeking a highly skilled Director of Public Relations to join our team. As a key member of our communications team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing PR strategies to enhance our brand image and public perception.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement PR strategies to enhance brand image and public perception.
  • Oversee media relations, including writing press releases, managing media inquiries, and organizing press conferences.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with journalists, influencers, and key stakeholders.
  • Monitor and manage our reputation across traditional and social media platforms.
  • Analyze PR campaign performance, provide reports, and recommend improvements.
  • Manage external agencies and vendors, ensuring alignment with our objectives and goals.
  • Stay informed on industry trends and news to keep our communications relevant and proactive.
  • Create compelling content for various platforms, including blogs, social media, and internal newsletters.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including marketing, sales, and senior management, to align PR efforts with business goals.
  • Act as an editor for various internal content, including emails and customer notifications.

Requirements:

  • 10+ years' community, communications leadership experience, including being able to inspire and bring out the best in agency and cross-functional teams.
  • Expert understanding of building communications anchored in our purpose, employing effective tools to drive business outcomes.
  • Fluency in digital marketing, including a clear understanding of digital channels, social media, content, etc.
  • Understanding of the interplay between brand and performance marketing and how to best leverage across channels.
  • Ability to field questions from media outlets with credibility and confidence.
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Journalism, Communications, or Public Relations.
  • Comfortable and productive in a virtual working environment.
  • Able to travel moderately as the demands of the job require.
  • Fiber or Telecom industry experience preferred.
