Position Summary: We are currently seeking a dedicated Safety Specialist with a robust background in commercial construction and fabrication.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with all relevant federal, state, and local safety regulations, including OSHA standards.
- Assist in conducting thorough investigations of accidents and near misses.
- Perform regular inspections to identify potential safety, health, and environmental hazards.
- Evaluate administrative controls to enhance employee safety and meet client expectations.
- Conduct on-site safety inspections and provide coaching to mitigate unsafe practices.
- Act as a liaison to address employee concerns regarding health and safety policies.
- Monitor and analyze injury and incident data to identify trends and recommend safety improvements.
- Oversee driver safety protocols.
- Assist in the procurement of necessary work permits.
- Facilitate safety training and orientation for new hires.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in safety management within large commercial and industrial construction projects.
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
- CHST certification or the ability to obtain it within one year.
- Comprehensive knowledge of federal, state, and local safety regulations.
- Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.
- Proficiency in Office 365 applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
- First Aid and CPR certification is preferred.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
