Overview of Responsibilities:

  • Manage daily functions within Access Services
  • Support patrons in the circulation of library materials
  • Offer technical assistance to library users
  • Oversee student staff
  • Take charge of library operations in the absence of the supervisor
  • Facilitate the exploration and utilization of library resources

Supervision Structure:

  • Reports directly to the Library Circulation Manager

Comprehensive Duties:

  • Assist in the management of library service operations
  • Guide library patrons in accessing information and materials
  • Handle course reserve processing
  • Train and oversee student employees
  • Deliver customer service and technical support
  • Collaborate with various departments and partners
  • Engage in the development of library policies
  • Manage the charging, renewing, and discharging of library materials
  • Monitor the circulation of library resources
  • Resolve technical issues and communicate effectively

Required Qualifications:

  • Proficient in data analysis and report generation
  • Ability to adhere to instructions and collaborate effectively
  • Demonstrate sound judgment and manage confidential information

Skills Developed On-the-Job:

  • Understanding of agency procedures and budget management
  • Familiarity with state personnel systems and Federal Grant Administration
  • Experience in leadership and supervisory roles

Department: Claire Carney Library

Salary: $55, $77,989.34

Work Schedule: Sunday-Thursday 3pm-11pm

Grade: 16

Union: AFSCME
