Job Title: HVAC Service Technician

The City of Nampa is seeking a skilled HVAC Service Technician to join our Facilities Development team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing scheduled preventive maintenance, service, and repair of HVAC equipment assets for City of Nampa buildings.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform regularly scheduled preventive maintenance as determined by equipment application and manufacturer recommendations.
  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical malfunctions and make recommendations for repair or replacement.
  • Perform journey-level trouble shooting, repair, and replacement of HVAC equipment, including calibration of thermostatic controls and worn heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning parts and equipment.
  • Utilize tools of the trade and specialized automated equipment to diagnose and calibrate devices within critical climate systems.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and HVAC equipment operation manuals.
  • Safely operate company vehicles, machinery, and equipment.
  • Recognize risks and safety hazards commonly found in HVAC operations and implement appropriate controls to ensure safe work.
Requirements:
  • High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) required.
  • Idaho HVAC Journeyman's License.
  • Minimum of 5 years of practical experience performing commercial HVAC maintenance, service, and repair.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in configuration and programming of direct digital control (DDC) systems and building automation systems (BAS).
