Job Summary

PacifiCorp is seeking a highly skilled Safety Administrator to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for administering programs and functions related to safety, health, and regulation compliance in our wind generation operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of strategies to reduce risks and improve safety performance.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, and follow up on activities to prevent future occurrences.
  • Provide expert advice and counsel on safety, health, and regulation compliance matters.
  • Assist with facility safety committees, plant safety administrators, and other personnel in conducting pilot projects and safety-related initiatives.
  • Conduct and report statistical analysis and trends on safety performance.
  • Establish and maintain a proactive monitoring and auditing system.
  • Maintain a safety inventory and provide support on occupational health and industrial hygiene issues.
  • Conduct safety training and education programs, and demonstrate the use of safety equipment.
  • Prepare monthly safety reporting activities.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Hygiene, Safety, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in Industrial Health, Safety, or a related field.
  • Proficient knowledge of rules, regulations, policies, procedures, and practices, including federal, state, and local laws and OSHA standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including ability to consult and resolve internal or external customer issues.
  • Ability to work with all organizational levels and work as a member of a team.
  • Ability to develop alternatives, standards, or practices within defined areas.
  • Proficient with the use of personal computers, including spreadsheet, database, word processing, and presentation applications.
  • Analysis, assessment, and investigation skills to determine recommendations or plans of action.
  • Ability to work at heights and climb wind turbines repeatedly during a day.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds repeatedly during a day.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools.
Preferred Qualifications
  • State, federal, or regulatory certifications or licensing.
  • Experience working in a power plant, process plant, or manufacturing facility.
  • Knowledge of wind power plant operations and plant systems.
  • In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations.
