Job Summary:

Sorenson Communications is seeking a skilled Field Trainer/Installer to join our team. As a Field Trainer/Installer, you will be responsible for educating customers on how to use their Video Relay Service (VRS) device, performing VRS training, service calls, and new installations of Sorenson equipment in their assigned area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Communicate using American Sign Language (ASL) to educate customers on how to use their VRS device.
  • Travel to customer homes and businesses to perform VRS training, service calls, and new installations of Sorenson equipment.
  • Educate new and existing customers on how to use the features and benefits of SVRS services and products.
  • Participate in events with the Sales/Outreach and Marketing groups to educate institutions, customers, and organizations on the benefits of Sorenson VRS.
  • Participate in seminar and training sessions with deaf constituents on using Sorenson services to communicate with hearing constituents.

Requirements:

  • Fluent in American Sign Language (ASL).
  • Extensive experience in installing Sorenson VRS equipment, providing customer service, and being an expert in all types of videophone and network installations.
  • Excellent written and ASL communication skills.
  • Daily access to own transportation and willingness to provide required documentation.
  • Ability to travel long distances by automobile or airplane and stay overnight.
  • Excellent computer skills and understanding of the Internet, routers, hubs, switches, and how to install them.
  • Personal high-speed Internet connection at place of residence.
  • Sorenson Communications selected as their default provider (with an active Local Number) for work VP and mobile devices.
  • Understanding of firewalls and ability to work successfully with IT and Network Administrators to open required ports for Sorenson's equipment.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:

  • Fluent in American Sign Language (ASL).
  • Must be a team player and have a positive attitude.
  • Ability to lift pounds and sit for long periods of time.
  • Other duties as assigned.
