Job Overview

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

In collaboration with fellow Territory Managers, you will:

• Cultivate and enhance customer relationships within a collaborative sales environment.

• Oversee product deliveries according to the logistics schedule set by the transportation team; address any issues that arise during the order fulfillment process (e.g., delivery discrepancies, insufficient loads, inventory shortages).

• Communicate with clients to manage accounts receivable as needed, coordinating with the credit department; ensure all outstanding balances are collected in accordance with established credit terms.

• Utilize additional resources to capitalize on key market opportunities and establish new accounts.

• Generate new business by identifying potential clients through market research, business directories, referrals from existing customers, participation in industry organizations, and attendance at trade shows and conferences.

• Stay informed about market trends, product advancements, and competitor offerings; share valuable insights with clients as part of the service provided.

• Travel to current and prospective clients to ensure timely product delivery, which may involve lifting and carrying items weighing up to 75lbs.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• This position does not have direct reports.

COLLABORATIVE RELATIONSHIPS

• Internal: Work closely with the District Sales Manager, Regional Sales Manager, VP of Local Sales, Accounting/Credit Department, Merchandising and Marketing teams, Operations, and Customer Service.

• External: Engage with customers, suppliers, and potential clients.


WORKING CONDITIONS

• Regularly work outside the office in various weather conditions while visiting clients.

QUALIFICATIONS

• A minimum of 1 year of sales experience is preferred.

• Experience in the foodservice industry, culinary arts, restaurant management, or hospitality is advantageous.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills, along with effective presentation capabilities.

• Ability to build and maintain relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, as well as cold calling to generate new business opportunities.

• Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills.

• A competitive mindset with a focus on achieving results.

• Strong problem-solving, organizational, and negotiation skills.

• A collaborative approach to working with various stakeholders.

• Proficient in computer applications, particularly Microsoft Office; experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tools such as Salesforce is preferred.

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
