Position Overview:
At Houston Methodist Academic Institute, the Clinical Research Operations Manager is tasked with overseeing intricate research initiatives that may encompass multiple locations and/or research teams engaged in clinical activities.

This role involves direct supervision of research personnel to guarantee effective planning, oversight, and coordination of clinical research endeavors.

Key Responsibilities:
The Clinical Research Operations Manager is responsible for monitoring the advancement and performance of all projects, ensuring quality of services, adherence to timelines, financial feasibility, and compliance with federal, state, and institutional regulations.

This position also offers strategic guidance to departmental and institutional leadership regarding pertinent clinical trial matters and development.

Team Leadership:
The manager will oversee daily operations of the department, ensuring quality, productivity, and operational excellence while assisting in achieving strategic and operational goals.

Additionally, this role involves mentoring staff, managing budgets, contributing to staffing decisions, and developing policies and procedures to maintain a safe and effective work environment.

Training and Compliance:
This position is responsible for implementing training and operational initiatives that ensure compliance with ethical standards and regulatory requirements.

Essential Functions:
1. Management of employee selection, scheduling, supervision, and evaluation to foster a competent and engaged workforce.
2. Facilitation of effective team dynamics and process improvements within the department.
3. Planning and organizing daily departmental operations to enhance service delivery and customer satisfaction.

Quality and Safety:
Ensures a safe working environment by monitoring compliance with safety protocols and maintaining required credentials for staff.

Financial Oversight:
Assists in budget development and ensures cost-effective operations while managing departmental expenses within approved parameters.

Growth and Innovation:
Identifies and implements innovative solutions to enhance departmental operations and improve workflow efficiency.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline or nursing required; Master's preferred.
- Minimum of five years of relevant experience, including one year in a managerial role in healthcare.

Licenses and Certifications:
- CCRC or CCRP certification required.
