At Houston Methodist, the Clinical Research Coordinator role is pivotal in assisting various projects under the guidance of the Clinical Trial Manager. This includes the implementation of clinical research protocols, collecting patient data as outlined in the study protocol, and compiling study reports.

This position is essential in ensuring precise data collection, maintaining organized documentation, and safeguarding the well-being of study participants.

PEOPLE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Collaborates with an inter-professional team of clinical research investigators, nurses, and coordinators.

Fosters a constructive work atmosphere and contributes to a dynamic, team-oriented unit that actively supports one another to achieve optimal departmental outcomes.


SERVICE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Executes clinical research support tasks as directed by the clinical trial manager, which may include, but are not limited to, obtaining informed consent for non-interventional studies, data abstraction, and documentation in case report forms (CRFs).

Conducts phone outreach to study participants for appointment confirmations and follow-ups.
Handles the transportation of blood and tissue samples.

Processes and prepares laboratory samples for shipment to the sponsor or for storage at the site in accordance with the study's operational manual.

QUALITY/SAFETY ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Completes necessary case report forms and addresses any queries. Ensures accurate data collection, systematic documentation, and the safety of study participants. Guarantees precise regulatory filing.

Assists the Clinical Trial Manager in recognizing opportunities for enhancing research workflow processes, offering recommendations, and contributing to the achievement of departmental and hospital objectives for quality and safety.


FINANCE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Ensures that study execution adheres to relevant IRB, FDA, ICH, and agency guidelines.
Utilizes resources with a focus on cost-effectiveness and value creation. Demonstrates self-motivation to manage time efficiently and prioritize daily responsibilities while providing assistance to colleagues as necessary.


GROWTH/INNOVATION ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Participates in basic data analysis, contributes to the development of training materials for data reporting, systems, and collection, and assists in report generation.

Identifies and leads initiatives for performance enhancement. Supports change initiatives and adapts to unforeseen changes.
Seeks opportunities for personal development and takes appropriate actions. Ensures regular career discussions with relevant management. Continuously updates the My Development Plan.

EDUCATION
Bachelor's degree in a health science-related discipline.
