Job Title: Diesel Mechanic Technician

At Ryder, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Diesel Mechanic Technician to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing routine preventative maintenance, diagnosing and repairing complex mechanical and electronic issues, and ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our heavy-duty vehicles.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance on vehicles, including oil changes, brake and tire work
  • Diagnose and repair complex mechanical and electronic issues using diagnostic computer tools
  • Identify root causes of basic failures and perform repairs as required
  • Replace defective components as instructed
  • Perform facility maintenance duties as needed
  • Interact with customers/drivers to properly determine the nature of complaints
  • Utilize key functions of Shop Management System and electronic documentation
  • Work in accordance with all federal and corporate compliance guidelines
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Vocational or technical certification or post-secondary degree preferred
  • Basic tools required
  • Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines
  • Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A preferred
  • Ability to obtain CDL within 6 months of hire
  • Pass a Ryder drug test, DOT physical, and Ryder road test
  • Pass a Ryder background and motor vehicle check
