About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and accomplished Program Director to lead our General Surgery Residency program at the University of Miami's Miller School of Medicine, in partnership with Holy Cross Health.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain authority and accountability of the program, ensuring compliance with governing agency policies and procedures.
  • Enforce policies and procedures required by governing agencies, maintaining ACGME accreditation and ensuring program excellence in a patient-centered environment.
  • Recruit residents into the program, maintaining the evaluation process for resident performance and participating in competency evaluations.
  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance program growth and development, fostering a culture of excellence and innovation.
Requirements
  • Medical Degree (M.D. or D.O.)
  • Valid medical license in the State of Florida
  • Current board certification by The American Board of Surgery
  • Five years of experience as a Program Director, Associate Director, or Core Faculty member in an ACGME-approved Surgery residency, with leadership and administrative experience.
  • Strong administrative and team-building skills, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to combine administrative and diagnostic (teaching) responsibilities.
