Job Title: Associate Attorney

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Associate Attorney to join our team at Dorta & Ortega, P.A. As an Associate Attorney, you will play a key role in ensuring the efficient and professional handling of all legal matters.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage a full case load from inception to post-trial, ensuring timely and effective resolution of cases.
  • Attend hearings, depositions, mediation, and trials, representing the firm and its clients with confidence and expertise.
  • Prepare pleadings, discovery demands, discovery responses, motions, and other litigation documents, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Conduct thorough legal research, staying up-to-date on relevant laws and regulations.
  • Assist in the review of legal documents for accuracy and completeness, ensuring the highest level of quality.
  • Communicate effectively with senior associates and other team members to ensure seamless case handling and efficient workflow.
  • Ensure confidentiality and maintain the highest level of professionalism in all interactions.
  • Prioritize workload based on deadlines, meeting billing requirements and delivering exceptional results.
Requirements and Qualifications:
  • Accredited Law degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Member of the Florida Bar in good standing.
  • 0-3 years of experience in commercial litigation.
  • Strong legal knowledge and research skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Strong client service orientation and communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and other relevant software.
  • Exceptional decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong project management skills and attention to detail.
