Job Title: Associate Attorney

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Associate Attorney to join our team at Dorta & Ortega, P.A. As an Associate Attorney, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient and professional handling of all legal matters.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage a full case load from inception to post-trial, ensuring timely and effective resolution of cases.
  • Attend hearings, depositions, mediation, and trials, providing expert representation and advocacy.
  • Prepare and review pleadings, discovery demands, discovery responses, motions, and other litigation documents, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Conduct thorough legal research to support case development and strategy.
  • Assist in the review of legal documents for accuracy and completeness, ensuring seamless case management.
  • Communicate effectively with senior associates to ensure cases are handled efficiently and effectively.
  • Ensure confidentiality and maintain the highest level of professionalism in all interactions.
  • Prioritize workload based on deadlines, ensuring timely completion of tasks and projects.
  • Meet billing requirements, providing accurate and detailed records of time spent on cases.
Requirements and Qualifications:
  • Accredited Law degree from a reputable institution.
  • Must be a member of the Florida Bar in good standing.
  • 0-3 years of experience in commercial litigation.
  • Strong legal knowledge and expertise in commercial law.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong client service orientation, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, with the ability to learn and adapt to new technologies.
  • Exceptional decision-making abilities, with the capacity to analyze complex information and make informed decisions.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to plan, coordinate, and execute projects effectively.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a high level of adaptability and flexibility.
  • Ability to work under pressure, with a high level of resilience and stress management.
  • Ability to speak Spanish is a plus.
