Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Nurse Extern I to join our team at CHRISTUS Health. As a Nurse Extern I, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a hospital setting while working under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with the care of hospitalized patients, performing various direct patient care activities in accordance with Nursing Department policies and procedures.
- Work collaboratively with the healthcare team to provide high-quality patient care.
- Develop and maintain a strong understanding of nursing procedures and protocols.
- Participate in ongoing education and training to enhance nursing skills and knowledge.
Requirements:
- Currently enrolled in an RN accredited school of professional nursing to obtain either an associate degree or bachelor's degree as an RN.
- Must have completed their first clinical and be in good standing in the nursing program.
- Proficient in basic nursing tasks.
- Six (6) months experience in a hospital preferred, but not required.
- AHA BLS required within two (2) weeks of employment.
