Position Overview

We are currently seeking an associate with 4-8+ years of legal expertise in FERC electricity, along with some familiarity in project finance or energy transaction documentation. The role will encompass regulatory components related to the development, financing, acquisition, and management of diverse energy projects nationwide, with a special emphasis on power purchase agreements, interconnection agreements, and grid-related issues, particularly within the renewable energy sector. This position will be part of our distinguished Projects team, which is recognized as Band 1 by Chambers in all relevant categories and is involved in some of the most innovative and complex projects globally.

Location: Candidates may express their preferred office locations in their application.

Compensation Information: Employees will receive a salary that reflects their skills and experience. The anticipated full-time base annual salary for this role in major markets is expected to range from $310,000 to $435,000. This range is the firm's good faith estimate of potential compensation at the time of posting. Salaries may differ in other markets based on local data. Bonus opportunities are contingent upon individual and firm performance.

Senior Associates, Associates, and Sr. Counsel are expected in the office at least two days a week, while Counsel, Staff Counsel, and Patent Agents are required one day a week. This flexibility allows our team members to effectively manage their schedules while ensuring ample opportunities for collaboration and growth.
  • Vacation Incentive: The firm offers a $2,500 vacation award to all non-partner lawyers who achieve 600 client billable hours or more within a consecutive three-month period during the calendar year.
  • Professional Development: To support business development skills and personal networking, the firm reimburses business development activities. Lawyers who log 250+ business development hours in a performance year will receive a firm-sponsored coaching session.
