Job Title: Senior HVAC Service Technician

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior HVAC Service Technician to join our team at Elite Recruiting & Consulting Services. With over 10 years of experience in the HVAC industry, the successful candidate will be responsible for leading the installation, maintenance, and repair of advanced heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Installation and Maintenance: Lead the installation, inspection, maintenance, and repair of advanced HVAC systems, including high-efficiency air conditioners, furnaces, complex ventilation systems, commercial refrigeration units, Rooftop Units, Split Systems, Water-Source Heat Pumps, Air Handlers, and VRF Systems.
  • Troubleshooting and Repair: Expertly diagnose and troubleshoot a wide range of HVAC equipment failures and malfunctions, including issues with coils, motors, belts, boards, relays, actuators, and filters, providing solutions that extend beyond basic repairs.
  • Project Management: Schedule and manage materials required to complete service projects and repairs, ensuring timely and cost-effective service delivery.
  • Installation and Electrical Knowledge: Installation of HVAC equipment, refrigerant pipe, control wiring, and control devices, with electrical knowledge as a beneficial asset.
  • Review and Interpretation: Review and interpret equipment submittals, sequences of operations, and scopes of work; knowledge of blueprints and construction plans is advantageous.
  • Maintenance and Optimization: Perform and oversee regular maintenance services, ensuring systems are optimized for maximum performance and energy efficiency.
  • Emergency Repair Services: Provide emergency repair services during off-hours, including weekends and holidays, focusing on minimizing downtime for clients.
  • Documentation and Communication: Accurately record and report all service and maintenance activities, including detailed documentation of time spent, parts used, and professional recommendations for further action.
  • Customer Communication: Communicate effectively with customers to explain advanced service options, system upgrades, and necessary repairs, ensuring they understand the value and necessity of the work being performed.
  • Safety and Compliance: Ensure strict compliance with all safety standards and regulations during service, installation, and maintenance activities, setting the standard for junior team members.
  • Mentorship and Training: Mentor and train junior HVAC technicians, sharing expertise and best practices to enhance the overall capabilities of the team.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate with management to develop strategies for improving service efficiency, customer satisfaction, and team performance.
  • Leadership and Instruction: Lead, instruct, and assist junior mechanics and helpers in collaboration with the leadership team.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; advanced vocational training or certification in HVAC is strongly preferred.
  • Certifications: EPA certification (Type I & II or Universal) required; additional certifications or licenses are a plus.
  • Experience: A minimum of 10 years of experience as an HVAC technician, with extensive experience in both residential and commercial systems.
  • Technical Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of HVAC systems, components, and repair techniques, with a proven track record of handling complex service issues.
  • Problem-Solving and Attention to Detail: Exceptional problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Independence and Teamwork: Ability to work independently, manage multiple high-priority tasks, and mentor less experienced team members.
  • Communication and Customer Service: Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical clients.
  • Valid Driver's License: Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to lift heavy equipment and work in confined spaces or at heights.
  • Personal Tools: Possess necessary personal hand and power tools required for HVAC service work.
  • Organizational Skills: Good organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work under high pressure.
  • Eligibility: Must be eligible to work in the U.S.

Working Conditions:

  • Work Environment: Work is performed in residential, commercial, and industrial environments.
  • Frequent Travel: Frequent travel to job sites in and around Monrovia, MD.
  • Exposure to Hazards: Exposure to varying temperatures, loud noises, and potential hazards.
  • Availability: Must be available for on-call rotations, including evenings and weekends.

Salary and Benefits:

  • Pay: $40 - $55 per hour, negotiable based on experience and qualifications.
