About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Instrumentation and Controls Engineer to join our team at Sargent & Lundy. As a key member of our Nuclear Power Group, you will play a critical role in designing and implementing control systems for nuclear power plants.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop control systems for nuclear power plants, including digital systems, PLCs, DCSs, and touchscreen displays.
  • Develop functional requirement and procurement specifications for instrumentation and control systems.
  • Prepare documentation for design input, including cable block diagrams and schematics.
  • Interface with vendors and prepare equipment purchase specifications.
  • Prepare reports and studies to present technical information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Attend client meetings and perform site walkdowns to ensure client satisfaction.
  • Provide guidance as a mentor to less experienced engineers.
Requirements
  • BS degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in design engineering for process control systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience in reviewing design drawings created by others.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in design engineering for nuclear power plant control systems.
  • PE license.
