Role Summary:

The primary objective of the Senior Financial Analyst is to provide strategic insights, analysis, and guidance to the Plant Managers within a designated Business Segment regarding business performance, with an emphasis on maximizing operating income and cash flow. This role involves analyzing both historical and projected operational costs, making informed capital investment decisions, and overseeing working capital. Additional responsibilities include leading the financial closing process, preparing financial reports, conducting variance analysis, and engaging in financial planning on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis. Timely and accurate information delivery is crucial, and the ability to develop key performance indicators (KPIs) and dashboards to manage business performance is essential. Applying cost accounting principles to conduct detailed studies that provide cost information not available through general accounting systems is also a key aspect of this role. Ensuring compliance with internal controls, including SOX protocols, inventory observations, and reconciliations, is required.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Prepare and analyze monthly forecasts, comparing actual performance against operational plans and standards, and recommend adjustments as necessary.

2. Generate reports summarizing and forecasting business activities and financial positions based on historical, current, and anticipated operations.

3. Analyze and explain variances from budgets, forecasts, and other benchmarks.

4. Develop budgets, review proposals, and prepare supporting documentation and justifications.

5. Assist project managers with necessary information for managing and forecasting capital projects.

6. Coordinate transactions within Enterprise and Fixed Asset Systems to manage capital expenditure requisitions, closures, capitalization, depreciation, and asset retirement.

7. Provide management with timely reviews of the organization's financial status and progress in various programs and activities, including capital approval and reporting.

8. Support site personnel by translating financial knowledge into operational improvements.

9. Assist the Controller in analyzing key business strategies and projects, providing recommendations based on expected outcomes.

10. Lead the internal control program and collaborate with internal and external auditors on audit matters.

11. Prepare closing work papers, journal entries, and cost statements during the closing cycle.

12. Monitor production inventory costing and levels.

13. Prepare reports required by regulatory agencies.

14. Modify, create, and automate processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy in reporting.

15. Support administrative departments as an expert in the E1 system.

16. Perform other related duties as required.

Qualifications:

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications:

Education and Experience:

- A Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance is required; an MBA and/or CPA designation is highly desirable.

- A minimum of six (6) years of experience in public accounting as an auditor or in a finance/accounting role.

- Experience in cost accounting, preferably within an industrial manufacturing context.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Accounting ERP software, particularly JD Edwards.

- Intermediate to advanced experience with Business Intelligence tools such as Microsoft Power BI.
