Job Description

Aspire Bakeries is a leading North American baking company with a strong presence in the specialty frozen baked goods market. Our innovative food portfolio includes a wide range of products such as breads, artisan breads, buns, cookies, donuts, muffins, and pastries from well-known brands.

The Director of National Accounts will be responsible for managing key Aspire Bakeries national accounts. This role reports directly to the Vice President of National Accounts and requires a strong understanding of the foodservice industry and commercial development.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Account Management: Manage existing business through pricing negotiations, contract extensions, and RFPs. Monitor customers' supply chain activity and identify opportunities for growth.
  • Business Development: Prospect new customers and business opportunities. Collaborate with internal cross-functional teams to develop and commercialize new products.
  • Menu Gaps and Promotional Opportunities: Identify areas for incremental sales growth and develop strategies to capitalize on these opportunities.
  • Budget Management: Develop and manage budgets for sales, margin, program funds, and allowances.
  • Product Forecasting and Rollouts: Direct responsibility for managing product forecasting and rollouts of new foods.
  • Marketing and Category Management: Work with the Marketing and Category Management teams to identify and pursue ideas, projects, and opportunities with the biggest sales and margin potential.
  • Account Issue Awareness: Raise awareness of account issues, opportunities, and results through regular status reports and discussions with internal stakeholders.
  • Trade Show Representation: Represent Aspire Bakeries at tradeshows and customer conferences as needed.
  • Customer Correspondence: Maintain customer correspondence and price quote files, ensuring accurate financial documentation and backup.
  • Company Knowledge: Develop knowledge of Aspire Bakeries' capabilities, categories, and food handling procedures.
  • Interdepartmental Collaboration: Interact with other departments to ensure proper management of customer requirements.
Requirements:
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business, Communication, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience: Minimum of 8-10 years of foodservice national account experience with a proven track record of success.
  • Skills: Excellent interpersonal and written and spoken communication skills, proficiency in MS Office, specifically PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
  • Travel: 25% to 50% overnight travel away from home required.
