The Financial Services Specialist delivers comprehensive financial and investment solutions to members of Suncoast Credit Union. The primary responsibilities include evaluating members' financial circumstances and providing tailored advice to meet their specific needs. This role emphasizes a needs-based financial planning strategy with a focus on fee-based offerings. The ideal candidate demonstrates integrity and sound judgment while conducting business with honesty and fairness.
Key Responsibilities:
- Guide members in selecting suitable financial products aligned with their financial objectives.
- Evaluate and analyze members' investment and insurance needs, goals, risk tolerance, and overall financial status.
- Research various investment alternatives and inform members about the pros and cons of different financial and insurance solutions.
- Work collaboratively with members to develop actionable plans aimed at achieving their financial and investment goals.
- Implement strategies in a clear and comprehensible manner for members.
- Regularly monitor the performance of members' portfolios and conduct periodic reviews of their financial situations.
- Identify, evaluate, and manage pertinent financial investment risks.
- Suggest portfolio adjustments to address any issues or concerns.
- Create and execute a strategic marketing plan at the regional level to consistently secure 15-20 member consultations weekly.
- Conduct educational seminars in various locations.
- Collaborate with Relationship Managers and Trust Officers to enhance member service.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with branch managers, credit union staff, educational institutions, community leaders, and other key stakeholders.
- Ensure adherence to the approved products list from broker and dealer.
- Identify opportunities for cross-selling credit union products and services.
- Increase Assets Under Management (AUM) in fee-based solutions and trust services based on member needs.
- Maintain compliance with all relevant STIS, FINRA, SEC, State of Florida, and broker-dealer regulations, policies, and guidelines.
- Manage assigned accounts in accordance with established credit union and financial product standards.
- Participate in educational events to enhance professional knowledge and stay updated on required continuing education.
- Stay informed about current trends, regulations, and issues impacting the financial sector.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or economics (Equivalent work experience and training may be considered).
- 8+ years of relevant industry experience.
- 2+ years as a Registered Representative.
- Florida Life with VA and health insurance license required.
- FINRA Series 7, 66 (or 63 and 65) and FIRNA or must obtain within 90 days of employment.
- FINRA record (U-4) with no unacceptable entries.
- Strong understanding of regulatory compliance essential for fulfilling job responsibilities, including securities regulations, privacy rules, IRC guidelines for retirement plans, and general tax laws.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills for effective interaction with members, staff, vendors, and regulatory bodies.
- Ability to deliver public presentations and convey complex information clearly.
- Willingness to conduct evening seminars at various locations.
- Maintain a high level of confidentiality.
