Job Title: Cloud Engineer

Job Summary

We are seeking an innovative and experienced Cloud Engineer to support a federal client in the Washington, D.C. area. The successful candidate will design, test, administer, configure, implement, and maintain Local Area Networks and Wide Area Networks, including vessels, aircraft, and shore networks.

Responsibilities
  • Design and implement Local Area Networks and Wide Area Networks, including vessels, aircraft, and shore networks.
  • Automate the provisioning and managing of Infrastructure resources required for the project.
  • Perform duties associated with the design, testing, and implementation of Local Area Networks and Wide Area Networks.
  • Provide technical support related to LAN/WAN activities and end-user needs.
  • Develop standardized procedures for LAN/WAN operation and associated documentation.
  • Evaluate new technology and make recommendations for implementation.
  • Analyze requirements for system upgrades and implementations, including hardware/software resources, logistics, and planning issues, testing, and training.
  • Plan and direct the activities of other engineers and technicians.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, software engineering, computer science, or related field.
  • 8+ years of Cloud engineering experience.
  • 5 years of Enterprise Data Management (EDW) experience in administering and provisioning Database servers, data backup and recovery procedures, auditing, etc., using On-prem or Cloud products.
  • Able to use Terraform at mid to senior level to build cloud infrastructure.
  • 3+ years of experience using Azure cloud services in provisioning and administering services such as Azure Data factory, Azure Synapse, Azure Analysis services, and Azure Active directory.
  • Continuous integration, test automation, and/or DevSecOps on iterative development projects.
  • Assist with leading and overseeing a total system perspective, including technical understanding of relationships, dependencies, and requirements of cloud, on-premise, and hybrid services, infrastructure, and security domains.
  • Preferred: Azure administration Certification.
  • Security Clearance Requirement: Public Trust.
