Position Summary
Reporting to the Corporate Director of Sales and/or Area Operations Manager(s), the Sales Manager is responsible for generating new business, nurturing existing client relationships, and meeting the revenue targets set for the assigned hotel(s).
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in formulating sales and marketing strategies for designated properties.
- Provide training to hotel staff on sales techniques as necessary.
- Evaluate revenue management strategies utilizing tools such as Star Reports and demand analysis.
- Schedule and conduct sales appointments.
- Execute a required number of solicitation calls.
- Organize, maintain, and monitor sales data effectively.
- Fulfill requests from General Manager, Corporate Director of Sales, and other management personnel.
- Send weekly summaries of all sales activities and follow-up action items to the Corporate Director of Sales.
- Participate in sales conference calls as required.
- Perform essential functions of Director of Sales/Sales Manager/Sales Leader in their absence.
- Travel to various properties may be necessary based on assignments and sales requirements.
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, coordinating details and special requests.
- Distribute appropriate marketing materials and direct inquiries to sales management staff as needed.
- Conduct site tours when necessary.
- Coordinate the provision of requested equipment and catering for meeting rooms with other departments.
- Engage in sales calls and blitzes with the Sales Department, serving as a point of contact for hotel accounts as needed.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in hospitality sales or management is required.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to write reports and correspond effectively.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Capability to address issues involving multiple concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Experience with properties of similar size and quality is essential.
