This role is critical for managing and estimating minor commercial HVAC and plumbing projects (under $1.5 million) in the tenant improvement (TI) market.
Key Responsibilities- Develop accurate and competitive estimates for tenant improvement HVAC/plumbing projects, focusing on scopes under $1.5 million.
- Oversee the entire project lifecycle, from pre-construction planning through project execution, ensuring timely completion and adherence to budget.
- Cultivate strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and subcontractors to ensure clear communication, project alignment, and customer satisfaction.
- Coordinate with field teams to ensure accurate system installation, safety standards adherence, and resolution of on-site issues.
- Utilize Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, and construction management software (AutoCAD, Revit) for estimating, scheduling, and project coordination.
- Candidates must have a stable employment history and regional experience in the San Diego commercial mechanical construction industry.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of hands-on field experience in HVAC or plumbing construction OR a degree in Construction Management or Mechanical Engineering.
- 2-3 years of experience managing under $1.5 million commercial projects, with budgets typically between $100,000 and $500,000.
- Familiarity with commercial environments such as hospitals, schools, airports, hotels, and high-rises, ideally with experience working for large commercial mechanical contractors.
- Knowledge of Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, and design software like AutoCAD and Revit.
- Experience working on tenant improvement projects for commercial clients.
- Familiarity with building automation systems and technologies such as Tridium Niagara, Johnson Controls Metasys, and BACnet is a plus.
