Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our Day Habilitation team as a Lead Day Habilitation Specialist. In this role, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide support and guidance to program participants to help them achieve their personal goals.
  • Assist with daily living tasks, such as personal hygiene and transportation.
  • Help resolve behavioral issues and provide emotional support.
  • Document progress and maintain accurate records.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • One-year experience in OPWDD field required. Two (2) years of ACLD experience preferred.
  • Complete required training in SCIP, CPR, First Aid, and AED within 90 days of hire.
  • Obtain AMAP certification within 180 days of hire.
  • Ability to lift and transfer individuals.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Clean valid NYS driver's license.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, 8am-4:30pm. Salary range is $19.55-$20.97 per hour, with some programs/locations offering a differential. Apply online at www.acld.org or text us for more information at 516 732-3979.
