Job Title: Day Habilitation Specialist

At ACLD, we are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Day Habilitation Specialist to join our team. As a Day Habilitation Specialist, you will play a vital role in supporting adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities to achieve their personal goals and become self-sufficient.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide structure and emotional support to program participants
  • Assist in resolving behavioral issues and promoting positive behaviors
  • Help individuals with personal hygiene and daily living skills
  • Transport participants to and from volunteer and pre-vocational activities
  • Complete accurate and detailed documentation

Requirements:

  • Clean, valid NYS Driver's license
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Some experience working with intellectually and developmentally disabled population preferred, but will train
  • Ability to assist with lifting and transferring an adult person
  • Prior experience as Caregiver, Care Assistant, Personal Assistant, Resident Assistant, Direct Care Worker, Nursing Assistant, Home Care Aide or Companion is a plus

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm

Salary Range: $18.00 - $19.00 per hour

Some programs/locations may have a differential in addition to the hourly rate.
