At ACLD, we are dedicated to empowering individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to reach their full potential. We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Day Habilitation Specialist to join our team.

About the Role

As a Day Habilitation Specialist, you will play a vital role in supporting adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities to achieve their personal goals and become self-sufficient. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing structure and emotional support to program participants
  • Assisting with personal hygiene and daily living tasks
  • Helping to resolve behavioral issues and promote positive behaviors
  • Transporting participants to and from volunteer and pre-vocational activities
  • Completing accurate and detailed documentation
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A clean, valid NYS Driver's license
  • A High School diploma or equivalent
  • Some experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (training provided)
  • The ability to lift and transfer adults
What We Offer
