Day Habilitation Specialist

Adults & Children with Learning and Developmental Disabilities, Inc. is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Day Habilitation Specialist to join our team. As a Day Habilitation Specialist, you will play a vital role in supporting adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities to achieve their personal goals and live fulfilling lives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide individualized support to program participants to help them achieve their personal goals and exceed their expectations.
  • Offer structure and emotional support to individuals, promoting a sense of security and well-being.
  • Assist in resolving behavioral issues and developing strategies to prevent future occurrences.
  • Help individuals with personal hygiene and daily living skills, promoting independence and self-sufficiency.
  • Complete accurate and detailed documentation to ensure seamless communication and collaboration with team members.
  • Transport individuals to and from volunteer and pre-vocational activities using Agency vehicles.
Requirements:
  • Clean, valid NYS Driver's license.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Some experience working with the intellectually and developmentally disabled population is preferred, but training will be provided.
  • Ability to assist with lifting and transferring an adult person.
  • Prior experience as a Caregiver, Care Assistant, Personal Assistant, Resident Assistant, Direct Care Worker, Nursing Assistant, Home Care Aide, or Companion is a plus.
Work Schedule:

Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm, 40 hours per week.

Salary Range:

Competitive hourly rate, with some programs/locations offering a differential in addition to the hourly rate.
