Job Summary

Baylor Scott & White Institute for Rehabilitation - Outpatient is seeking a skilled Rehabilitation Support Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our rehabilitation team, you will play a vital role in helping individuals with brain injuries or spinal cord injuries regain their independence and return home.

About the Role

This position functions under the direction of rehabilitation therapists and nurses to provide support and assistance to patients with daily living activities, such as bathing, grooming, dressing, eating, cooking, and managing their medical needs. You will work closely with the therapy and nursing team to help patients re-learn essential skills and achieve their rehabilitation goals.

Responsibilities

  • Assist patients with daily living activities, such as bathing, grooming, dressing, eating, cooking, and managing their medical needs.
  • Drive patients to medical appointments and community activities.
  • Assist rehabilitation therapists with patient activities and provide support with nurse-delegated tasks.
  • Take vital signs, administer medications, and perform other tasks as needed.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Current State Driver's License in good standing required.
  • Certified BLS completion required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous Neuro Transitional Rehab experience preferred.
  • Therapy or Rehab Aide experience preferred.
  • Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) or Certified Medication aide preferred.
