Position Overview

The Facilities Maintenance Manager will oversee maintenance operations within their designated area. This role is crucial for meeting weekly, monthly, and annual performance indicators related to safety, quality, productivity, and cost. Success in this position is achieved through collaborative efforts with business partners and exemplifying Lief's core values. The Facilities Maintenance Manager will spearhead initiatives for change through employee engagement, continuous improvement, and the development and mentorship of team members.

Key Responsibilities

  • Champion safety protocols and promote a culture of safety within the maintenance department and the broader organization.
  • Implement the maintenance strategy while aligning team objectives and performance metrics to fulfill this strategy.
  • Guide and mentor team members to ensure achievement of performance indicators in safety, quality, productivity, and cost.
  • Facilitate a cross-training program that enhances flexibility and equips team members with the skills necessary to meet departmental objectives.
  • Lead and engage in root cause analysis when performance indicators are not met to foster sustained improvement.
  • Conduct thorough quality investigations when standards and expectations are not achieved.
  • Instruct and develop the team on continuous improvement methodologies, including kaizen and autonomous maintenance initiatives.
  • Proactively collaborate with other departments to address issues that hinder departmental goal attainment.
  • Support communication strategies for change management during significant organizational and process transformations.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.
Supervisory Duties

In accordance with relevant policies and regulations, the Facilities Maintenance Manager may undertake the following supervisory tasks: interviewing, hiring, onboarding, coaching, and developing staff; planning, assigning, and directing work; evaluating, managing, and rewarding performance; addressing concerns and resolving issues.

Qualifications

Education

A Bachelor's Degree is preferred.

Experience:
  • At least 2-3 years of experience in maintenance management.
  • Lean Six Sigma or Continuous Improvement certification and/or experience is preferred.
  • Familiarity with cGMPs in a regulated setting.
  • Knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems, with SAP preferred.
  • Experience with CMMS and inventory management.
  • Proficient in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, with the ability to mentor and develop team members.
Skills and Abilities
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the capacity to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Proven experience in driving continuous improvements through a culture of accountability.

Work Environment

The work environment is clean, organized, well-lit, and ventilated, with noise levels ranging from low to moderate. Field conditions may vary.

Employees may be exposed to various raw materials, including allergens.

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this role, employees are frequently required to bend, crawl, sit, talk, move about, hear, and speak. They may need to work in confined spaces and under challenging lighting conditions. Employees must occasionally lift and/or move 10-50 pounds and utilize appropriate equipment for heavier loads. Standing for approximately 8 hours is required. Employees must be able to work independently and collaboratively, driving projects to completion.

Specific vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Employees are required to use safety equipment as necessary to prevent injury.

Additional Information
The salary range for this position at Lief Labs is $77,000.00 - $84,000.00. The starting salary for the successful candidate will depend on various job-related factors, including market demand, experience, training, skills, and education. Benefits for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance, wellness benefits, education reimbursement, and paid time off. This position is eligible for bonuses.
