Job Overview:

The Maintenance Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring the seamless operation and upkeep of hotel facilities. This position involves assisting with the maintenance, service, and repair of various equipment as assigned. The technician will also engage in the preventative maintenance program, addressing guest requests, and managing other work orders as needed. Safety and efficiency are paramount, along with performing various trade tasks such as carpentry, painting, plumbing, and more.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the operation, maintenance, and repair of hotel equipment.
  • Replace light bulbs and conduct preventative maintenance in guest rooms, including vinyl repairs, touch-up painting, minor furniture fixes, tub caulking, and tile repairs.
  • Oversee preventative maintenance for ice machines, refrigerators, kitchen appliances, laundry equipment, HVAC systems, guest rooms, meeting spaces, swimming pools, and hot tubs.
  • Execute plumbing repairs, laundry equipment maintenance, and preventative upkeep on all exhaust fans and supplies; monitor energy conservation efforts; repair vacuum cleaners and other small equipment as requested.
  • Respond promptly to alarms to identify the location and cause, assess emergency status, and report findings to the management.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by supervisors or management.

Qualifications:

  • Preferred experience in a hotel or related field.
  • High School diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Licensure in a trade (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, etc.) is preferred.
  • A valid driver's license for the applicable state is necessary.
  • Must maintain an acceptable Motor Vehicle Driving Record (MVR).
  • Completion of a one-year college or technical school course, or three to six months of related experience or training, or a combination of education and experience.
  • Basic knowledge and experience in carpentry, plumbing, mechanical repairs, painting, and HVAC systems are preferred.
  • Ability to demonstrate accuracy and attention to detail; monitor own work to ensure quality and apply feedback for improvement.
  • Flexibility in response to change and adaptability to new methods and procedures.
  • Knowledge of safety principles and federal and state OSHA regulations.
