The technician is expected to execute tasks safely and efficiently, including trade-related jobs such as carpentry, painting, plumbing, and more. Driving a shuttle van may be required based on property needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the operation, maintenance, and repair of equipment.
  • Replace light bulbs and conduct preventative maintenance in guest rooms, including vinyl repairs, touch-up painting, minor furniture repairs, tub caulking, and tile repairs.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on ice machines, refrigerators, kitchen equipment, laundry machines, HVAC systems, guest rooms, meeting spaces, swimming pools, and hot tubs.
  • Conduct plumbing repairs, laundry equipment maintenance, and preventative checks on exhaust fans; monitor energy conservation efforts; repair vacuum cleaners and other small equipment as needed.
  • Respond promptly to alarms to identify the location and cause; assess emergency status and report findings to the Front Desk.
  • Carry out additional tasks as assigned by supervisors or management.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in a hotel or related field is preferred.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Licensure in a trade (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, etc.) is preferred.
  • A valid driver's license for the applicable state is necessary.
  • An acceptable Motor Vehicle Driving Record (MVR) is required, property-specific.
  • Completion of a one-year college or technical school course; or three to six months of related experience or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Basic knowledge and experience in carpentry, plumbing, mechanical repair, painting, and HVAC systems is preferred.
  • Ability to demonstrate accuracy and attention to detail; monitor own work to ensure quality and apply feedback for improvement.
  • Ability to show flexibility in response to change and adapt to new methods and procedures.
  • Knowledge of safety principles and federal and state OSHA regulations.
