The Behavior Specialist will create a positive, safe, and therapeutic environment in a court diversion program, supporting clients through regulation strategies and return home. This role involves working with a multidisciplinary team to provide supportive services to youth and their families experiencing crisis.

Key responsibilities include providing direct client care, completing paperwork, promoting an affirming treatment environment, maintaining daily routines, and assisting with tasks related to client care. Additionally, Behavior Specialists provide input on programming and treatment.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate and support daily program activities, including skills groups, meals, and activities.
  • Support client emotion regulation and reintegration.
  • Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Engage in training to develop knowledge and skills needed to provide diversity-affirming, trauma-informed milieu care.
  • Complete daily clinical documentation.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree (preferred) or high school education/GED with at least one year of experience and training working with children, youth, and/or families, preferably in a mental health-related setting.
  • Valid WA state driver's license, good driving record, and ability to drive agency vehicles.
  • Acceptance and ability to work with individuals and families with various lifestyles, behaviors, and cultural and spiritual practices, applying a social justice and equity lens to all aspects of this work.
  • Experience working with youth in the juvenile justice system, group care settings, or higher levels of care.
