Summary of Position

An Automotive Repair Specialist is tasked with accurately diagnosing and repairing vehicle components in line with factory and dealership standards, ensuring that every vehicle meets or surpasses quality and safety benchmarks, thereby delivering outstanding customer service.

Your role is vital in ensuring timely vehicle returns to customers, and you should take pride in the quality of your work.

Continuous training will be provided.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose malfunctions and perform repairs as specified in the repair order. Document all work accurately and thoroughly.

- Inspect assigned vehicles to determine if additional safety or service work is necessary – may include conducting road tests.

- Communicate clearly with the service advisor regarding any additional work needed, unnecessary repairs, or delays in completing repairs.

- Collaborate with the Parts Department to acquire necessary parts and update the service advisor on their status.
- Utilize approved repair methods and materials to restore each vehicle to its pre-concern condition.

- Ensure the condition of customers' vehicles is maintained or enhanced – inform the service advisor of any changes in appearance or condition.

- Report any tool or equipment malfunctions and maintain all dealership-owned tools and manuals. Operate all tools and equipment safely.
- Complete manufacturer-sponsored training programs and stay current on technical bulletins.
Qualifications
- Capable of performing daily service tasks in a technician environment.
- Must have at least 2 years of experience as a GM Technician and provide personal tools. GM Training records are required.
- Previous experience as a general electrical, transmission, or diesel technician is preferred.

- Ability to lift up to fifty (50) lbs without assistance and to stand, sit, bend, and twist for extended periods on concrete.

- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

- A self-motivated team player who communicates effectively with colleagues and collaborates well with other technicians and service advisors.

- Must possess a valid driver's license and be able to operate both automatic and manual vehicles.
- Pass a motor vehicle report and maintain a safe driving record.
- Successfully complete a criminal background check and drug test, with random drug testing at the company's discretion.
Physical Demands and Working Environment

The physical demands outlined here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to effectively perform the essential functions of this position.

While executing the duties of this role, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers to operate tools and equipment, and communicate with customers and colleagues both in person and over the phone.

The employee frequently reaches with hands and arms and may stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Occasionally, the employee may work in a seated position, climb, or balance, and may need to taste or smell.

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, frequently lift and/or move heavier items, and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Team members typically work 45-50 hours per week.

While performing the duties of this job, team members are regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, and chemicals.

They are frequently at risk of electrical shock and vibration. Occasionally, they may be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, outdoor weather, and combustible materials. The work environment is fast-paced, and noise levels are generally loud.
