The Parts Associate plays a crucial role in assisting both internal and external customers in acquiring the necessary parts. Daily interactions will occur with customers in person, via email, and over the phone, with an emphasis on delivering outstanding customer service.
- Assist customers in identifying and selecting required parts in a courteous and efficient manner.
- Ensure timely notification and delivery of parts to customers.
- Handle phone inquiries, providing price quotes and pertinent information.
- Receive and organize stock orders.
- Prepare orders for delivery, ensuring all parts are correctly labeled.
- Conduct daily inventory checks and replenish stock as necessary.
- Inform the parts manager of any out-of-stock items and assist in sourcing replacements.
- Ensure accurate billing for all parts requests.
- Process payments from retail customers.
- Maintain organized records of repair orders, invoices, and special orders.
- Keep the counter area clean and organized.
- Stay updated on new products and product updates.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned.
- Team-oriented individual with a strong focus on customer service.
- Ability to maintain a professional appearance.
- Experience in auto parts sales or mechanical knowledge is advantageous.
- Basic computer skills and mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Must pass a motor vehicle report and maintain a safe driving record.
- Successful completion of a criminal background check and drug screening is required.
The physical requirements for this position include standing, walking, and using hands to operate tools and equipment. Regular communication with customers and team members is essential. The role may involve lifting and moving items weighing up to 50 pounds and requires specific vision abilities.
Team members typically work 40 hours per week and may encounter various working conditions, including exposure to mechanical parts and cleaning tasks. The noise level in the work environment is generally moderate.
