Job Summary

This position is responsible for preparing and reviewing journal entries related to product costing to ensure accurate financial close. The successful candidate will also be responsible for preparing month-end statements, key performance indicator reports, and property tax reports. Additionally, this role will involve tracking and reporting on natural gas, electricity, and catalyst costs, as well as assisting with internal and external audits.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Close Process: Review, analyze, and prepare journal entries for all turnaround costs, entry and reconciliation of production and transfer tons, distributions and assessment processing, and processing of product costing.
  • Chemical Inventory: Calculate and prepare journal entries for chemical inventory costs, cost analysis and reporting.
  • Local Key Performance Indicators: Cost analysis and reporting.
  • Variance Analysis: Monthly plant cost variance analysis.
  • Local Financial & Cost Reporting Enhancements: Finished goods inventory reconciliation, asset componentization and closure.
Internal Controls

The successful candidate will establish and implement processes and procedures to meet departmental internal controls requirements. They will ensure that established processes/procedures are followed as designed and work with the Internal Controls Department to identify deficiencies in existing processes/procedures.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent.
  • Five to seven years of experience in various areas of accounting with increasing levels of responsibility required, and a minimum of one year of supervisory experience in an accounting environment.
  • CPA preferred.
  • Proficient with basic computer skills and fundamental working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Detail-oriented and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to acquire Transportation Worker Identification Credentials (TWIC).
