As a Regional Accounting Supervisor, you'll play a key role in managing our accounting department and ensuring the accuracy of our financial statements.

The Role:
As a Regional Accounting Supervisor, you'll be responsible for supervising the management of the accounting department and preparing financial statements and reports. Your duties will include managing and producing financial statements for internal and corporate personnel, maintaining the general ledger, generating monthly and year-end corporate reports, and generating monthly and year-end general ledger journal entries. You'll also be responsible for reviewing accounts payable vendor invoices for accuracy and adherence to corporate policies, verifying and co-signing vendor checks for payment, and verifying wire transfers by bank. Additionally, you'll maintain the fixed asset system, maintain the capital projects list, assist the CFO with annual budget preparation, interface with external and year-end auditors, and provide overall supervision of the accounting department.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage and produce financial statements for internal and corporate personnel
  • Maintain General Ledger
  • Generate monthly/year end corporate reports
  • Generate monthly/year end General Ledger journal entries
  • Review for payment all Accounts Payable vendor invoices for account accuracy and adherence to corporate policies
  • Verify and co-sign vendor check for payment
  • Verify wire transfer by bank
  • Maintain FAS (Fixed Asset System)
  • Maintain Capital Projects list
  • Assist CFO with annual budget preparation
  • Interface with external and year-end auditors
  • Overall supervision of Accounting Department
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor

Physical/Mental Requirements:
  • Constantly attend to details, sit, talk, hear, reach, eye/hand coordination, hand and wrist motion and manual dexterity in writing and in the use of telephone, 10-key calculator keypad and computer keyboard
  • Occasionally reach, bend, and lift boxes weighing up to 20 lbs.
  • Occasionally walk, reach, and lift in the use of the photocopy machine

Working Conditions:
  • Work is performed in a climate-controlled environment, on a carpeted floor, either alone or with others.
  • Exposure to paper and/or dust particles.
  • Subject to outdoor temperatures.
  • Exposed to smoke, bright lights, and noise.
  • Operation of various machines and equipment including but not limited to shredders, copiers laminating and binding machines, computer equipment.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related area from a four-year college or university, or four-six years' experience in accounting or equivalent combination preferred.
  • Ability to use a 10-key calculator, telephone, photocopy machine, binding machine, and computer.
  • Must possess effective communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex of documents such as technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
  • Ability to respond to common injuries or complaints from guests, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
  • Ability to lift boxes weighing up to 20 lbs.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.

License Requirements:
Rhode Island Department of Business Regulation Gaming License

Target Salary Range: $95,000 per year
