Job Summary

The Director, Human Resources Business Partner is a key role within Hibbett Retail, Inc. that requires a strategic thinker to support the Vice Presidents for assigned areas. This individual will work closely with the Business to provide hands-on and strategic input, insight, and advice on people-related issues, including talent management, employee relations, coaching/development, compensation, conflict management, organizational development, and training.

Key Responsibilities
  • Align the Human Resources Talent Agenda to the divisional operational agenda.
  • Partner with Leadership in their assigned area to provide HR guidance on people initiatives to drive business.
  • Act as a strategic thought partner to the divisional leadership.
  • Analyze trends and metrics in partnership with the Business and HR groups to develop solutions, programs, and policies.
  • Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Provide day-to-day performance management guidance to management.
  • Work closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
  • Provide HR policy guidance and interpretation.
  • Work closely with the Talent Development team to identify talent needs, including recruiting, learning, performance management, and succession planning.
  • Identify training needs for business units and individual executive coaching needs.
  • Participate in evaluation and monitoring of training programs to ensure success.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 10 years of experience resolving employee relations issues.
  • 3+ years of management experience.
  • Deep knowledge of multiple human resources disciplines, including compensation practices, employee relations, diversity, performance management, and federal and state respective employment laws.
  • Prior Workday experience preferred.
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP preferred.
